I found KFTLC shortly after getting internet access in the 90's. I've always loved a good story and what better story could there be than a father and son working out their relationship. When I searched online for other fans, I discovered two things. First that there were other people who came up with stories in their heads about TV shows they loved (which meant I wasn't a weirdo!) and second, I discovered some of my dearest lifelong friends. These women encouraged me to write down these stories in my head and a writer was born. KFTLC has been the birthplace of some of the most important relationships and joys of my life. I'm forever grateful. Though the world, technology, and the way we watch and communicate about shows we like has changed, one basic thing has remained intact -
Good stories capture our imaginations and take us to places we never imagined and help us understand experiences quite different from our own. Good stories help us grow and learn about a bigger world and that can never be a bad thing.
I hope you enjoy the stories of mine that you read and I'd love to hear what you think. Writers always write with the hope of them being read. Since fanfiction is an undertaking without financial reward and the only feeding a fanfiction writer gets are the comments. My stories tend to be rather explicit. My desire isn't just for shock value, but to tell a story with truth. I hope you like reading as much as I do writing them.
Hearing the call of the word “comfort” as inspiration, Kermit put this little scene into my head. It’s hard for me to carve out time to write, but tonight I took it. This happens in my AU where Kermit has a family. At 1035 words, this ain’t no drabble, but it’s a glimpse into what lots of cops must feel when they go home on those rough days and mercenaries with souls would be the same.
